Save our economy day (Oct 19)

Posted October 15, 2008 - Filed under Interesting

A lot of smaller businesses are making people redundant and even large businesses have frozen new hires. Spending is being slashed everywhere.

I’ve had a lot of people tell me that they want something but don’t think it’s a good time to buy stuff.  My response to them has been that they should. That if everyone man, woman and child in Australia (or any other country) went out and spent $100 each on something nice for themselves it would solve all our economic woes.

Think about it, just $100 each x 22 million is $2.2 billion. Certainly enough to fight off a depression for a couple of weeks.

What do you get for your $100? Well you get that $100+ something you’ve been wanting. You also save someone’s job, who in turn probably saves your job because they can still afford to consume whatever your business makes. The knock on effect is enormous.

So, what I’m proposing we all do is to tell as many people as we can about the cause between now and Saturday and go and do our thing for our economy and more importantly our country.

If you want to help spread the word. Join the facebook group, tell your friends and colleagues, SMS everyone in your phonebook, get a real grass roots movement going.

FYI: This is the smallprint. As far as I know this idea is original, however, no idea is truly original.
